Visitors:
First, a BIG "THANKS" to co-coordinator Gordy Adamski who took vacation
time to be the official counter this week. And "Thank You" to all of you
who have come up to help. It's a big sky and extra eyes are always
welcomed!
Visitors and observers:

Peter & Angela Nebel
Ernie & Ruth from Massachusetts

Weather:
Repeat from yesterday with no cloud cover, bright blue and haze, and a
faint whisper of a breeze out of WSW made for a very long day. Birds were
very hard to pick up. Clouds began to roll in, thick and heavy in last
hour. Hopefully front will push through tonight bringing cooler temps and
winds that might shake out a few more birds tomorrow.
Wind: 1-5 kh/m at most in morning dropping to zero
Temp (high): 25C
Humidity: 56%
Bar.Pressure: dropping to 1013
Observations:
I need to check records but it seems we're having a good showing of Merlin,
Peregrine and Sharpies since Isabel barreled through the Commonwealth the
end of last week.
High count of Broad-wing between 9-10 a.m. (EST) with 118.
Season's 3rd NoGoshawk, an immature, at 10:50 a.m. (EST)
Blue Jay - first noticeable movement - flock of 15
Red-head Woodpecker
Predictions:
Hopefully approaching cold front will pass overnight bringing cooler temps
and wind to push the birds along. Oh yes, and a few lingering clouds to
find them!
