Total observation time: 9.5 hours

Official Counter: Scott McConnell

Observers: Scott McConnell

Visitors:
Jane Frigo and Ann Marie Hagg; elder hostel group from the Marine Science
Consortium; Umit & Rosemary Turunc; the inquisitive NRFLK T.

Weather:
Lovely winter day.

Raptor Observations:
Light flight on strong NW winds. Accips were heading N, probably having
come down the E side of the peninsula first.

Non-raptor Observations:
FOY purple finch! 7 common loons; yb sapsucker; b-h nuthatches; eastern
phoebe; black-bel. plover flyover; 5 migrating gb herons; 27 northbound
flickers. At first light, with harriers blowing sideways and myrtle
warblers flying backwards, a large cloud of tree swallows was galavanting
and swirling, apparently unaffected by the wind.

Predictions:
Sunny, mid-50s, NW wind 15-20.
