Visitors:
More Parkway traffic than expected, leaves almost gone, little color. Cary
Haymaker stopped by.
Clark & Staphanie Hill, Chip Dondrea, and Larry Covin helped watch.
Weather:
Wind was out of the East all day between a 1 and 2, temps ranged from 4C
to 8.5C, basically a clear and good visibility day.
Raptor Observations:
The lift was almost nil all day long and the wind was not producing very
much ridge lift, so the birds stayed home. First bird of the day was a PF
low and close on the East side, Bill James got a good look. The birds never
got high, some were far out on the West side and the ones we saw on the
East were riding what ridge lift that was there. A juvenile BE worked for
a very long time out in the valley trying to find lift before moving on.
Non-raptor Observations:
We had about 150 Crows come through chased by the Ravens, Robins through
early, no Monarchs were seen.
