Observers:
Visitors:
Not many Parkway travelers. Only one hiker and he wasn't talking-just
walking. One drive-thru wanted to know how many trick-or-treaters we had
had.
Contributing to the count- John Williamson, Mike Crowder, Andy Biggs.
Weather:
No clouds today! It helped to make the low temps more bearable (0-5
degrees C.). Winds at about a 2 and variable. Visibility good with some
haze to much better as the day wore on.
Raptor Observations:
The Hawks and Vultures seemed to wait on the warmer temps to begin to move
- as predicted by John Williamson. No noticeable movements of migrating
vultures, they were either perched across the Parkway on the railing or
meandering out over the valley.
Non-raptor Observations:
No Monarchs. About the only migrating passerines were Cedar Waxwings, and
those were smallish flocks-no more than 50- and most were northbound.
