VA Birders,
Lately several new migrants have shown up in my area of Buchanan County. A
couple of days ago two Pine Warblers were in our apple tree. The first Gray
Catbird has arrived. I heard a Chat in a neighbor's pasture. Two
White-crowned Sparrows have shown up at the feeders. I could hear several
Hooded Warblers singing. A White-eyed Vireo hangs around the yard. A pair
nested here last year.
This morning I heard a Least Flycatcher in the field just across the road. A
pair of those nested here last year as well.
Five Rose-breasted Grosbeaks appeared at the sunflower feeders. First a male
showed up and I got these two photos.

Then a female flew in.

good in her own right even though shes not as colorful as the male.
Enjoy the birds,
