Migrants on Sunday morning included 3 La. Waterthrushes, 2 Pine Warblers, 1
Palm Warbler (yellow race), many Yellow-rumped Warblers, several Ruby-crowned
Kinglets (including a very vocal one), and also Golden-crowned Kinglets and
Brown Creepers.
Saturday morning birds included a B-G Gnatcatcher, Y-B Sapsucker, and Purple
Martins, in addition to most of the above.
For the past two weeks, I have not seen or heard Carolina Wrens at the park.
I assume that either the severe winter has taken its toll or that they wisely
sought refuge at backyard suet feeders in the area. The pair in my yard look
as healthy and spunky as usual.
