[va-bird] Gravelly Point gulls

I went back to Gravelly Point (with my camera this
time) to look for the yellow-legged gull candidate I
saw on Saturday. It was about the same time of day as
I saw the bird on Saturday (5:00), but the only gulls
present were ring-billeds standing on the grass. No
gulls were in the Roaches Run Inlet channel. It
appeared to be high tide as no mudflats were exposed
in the channel.

When I saw the candidate gull on Saturday it was low
tide and there were many gulls feeding on the narrow
mudflats on each side of the inlet and many more gulls
were flying around. So, if anyone goes to look for
the gull, I would suggest consulting the tide tables
and going at low tide. Unfortunately, I won't have
chance to go and look again until this weekend.
