The very pale first year Glaucous Gull was still there at the Prince William
County Landfill when I paid a short visit this afternoon. This bird is really
very white but if you get a good view it still has fairly well barred undertail
coverts. There was a good number of gulls there - at least 6 Lesser
Black-backs (2 x 1W, 1 X 2W, 1x3W and 2 adults) although not many more Greater
Black-backs than that.
I then went to Julie Metz - the Harris's Sparrow was very easy to find but I
think was a different one to the bird I saw back in Jan, with less black on the
throat.
