We had a very busy day today at Occoquan. Cool days with low overcast seem
to produce our
biggest catches.  We had our FOS GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH and ACADIAN FLYCATCHER
today 5/14.
We continue to catch substantial numbers of NORTHERN WATERTHRUSHES,
YELLOW-RUMPS, and
COMMON YELLOWTHROATS.  Unfortunately our most common catches today were
COMMON GRACKLES -
handsome but scrappy and with very sharp claws. We get more Grackles in the
nets than we
actually band because a goodly number of them manage to bounce their way out
of the nets
before we can snag them.  Full report follows soon.  Cheers,  Joanna
