As only one of my brain cells is on duty this morning, I am correcting the
previous post:

On Wednesday evening I stole a few precious moments to visit the swifts at
Jackson Middle School on Gallows Road. The swirling clouds and birds made
for a very beatiful dusk hour. I was able to gauge about 300/minute dropping
in to the roost.
Two county school maintenance workers were present, enjoying the sight. I
asked if they had heard any talk about the preservation of the chimney for
the birds and they had not, however one gentleman mentioned that he is
building a roost chimney for the birds at his new home. This was very
encouraging to hear!
