Subject: eBird Report - Huntley Meadows Park , 12/4/06
Location: Huntley Meadows Park
Observation date: 12/4/06
Notes:

Twelve hardy birders assembled at Huntley Meadows Monday morning for the weekly bird walk. It was a cold, brilliant morning made even brisker on the boardwalk by a stiff wind. The wetlands were filled with geese and ducks, highlighted by large numbers of Green-winged Teal and Shovelers. Another highlight was a pair of Red-shouldered Hawks who briefly locked talons. Flickers were in abundance and a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers provided a grand show as they excavated large holes on a snag near the beginning of the boardwalk.
