Keep your eyes open!  This is from PA, but possibly of general interest to
some
on this board.

Subject: [PABIRDS] FIRST EVER Black-headed Grosbeak Banded at Powdermill

Dear Birders/Banders,

This just in, Black-headed Grosbeak banded at Powdermill Nature Reserve,
this morning (Fri. 24 Sept 2004)!!!  This adult female was the first of this
species ever banded at Powdermill in the 43 year history of the program.

We couldn't wait, so we've just posted photo highlights of the bird at
http://www.westol.com/~banding/, linked from the home page, in addition to
the full list of other birds banded today and our updated running season
totals.

After this Sunday's banding we will post a full week's summary with photo
highlights (yes, there were other highlights this week!)

With our thanks for everyone's continued interest (and with our apologies
to Derek!),
