I saw three Osprey at Occoquan Bay NWR on Saturday. Two were near the nest
pole by the "bunker" and one was a flyover. Also had 2 American Coot at the
refuge.

I made quick stops at Leesylvania SP and Neabsco Creek yesterday
morning. Nothing on the river except a raft of red-breasted mergansers.
No sign of osprey yet at the nest sites in Leesylvania. Neabsco Creek
had a nice flock of American mergansers. Males were courting, and on
the mirror-smooth water this made for a pretty picture. Other birds of
note were a a red-tail dining on some unknown critter, a flock of 20
snipe, green-winged teal, black duck, mallard, 2 singing winter wrens,
and a pair of bald eagles at a nest.
