VA Birder's,
Laura Catterton and I looked for the first winter Franklin's Gulls at
the Prince William County Landfill from 1:00pm to 3:00pm without
success. I spoke to Steve Rottenborn before going there and he said
this morning there were around 200 Laughing Gulls there. When Laura and
I arrived there were thousands and they were everywhere. There were a
few Herring Gulls and some Ring-billed Gulls scattered about. We found
2 Great Black-backed Gulls and one Lesser Black-backed Gull also. When
I left at 3:00 Laura was still looking accompanied by George Wheaton.
