Yard Bird #190!  I've been searching the Laughing Gulls for 3 years now in
the late summer & fall for this one.  I probably wouldn't have found this
bird if it had not been for my daily vigil of watching for the White Ibis
roosting on the power towers.

This bird's size, bill structure, half hood, & shorter wings drew me to the
bird yesterday evening around 6pm (9/29).  I watched it for 10 minutes
noting the eye crescents and the white on the tips of its wings.

I have posted some MORE poor pics due to the low light & distance at:

Click "Galleries" and "Franklin's Gull".

Also, I observed only ONE White Ibis last night (9/29).  This bird stayed
the longest that I have seen them stay in the morning (9/30) - it didn't
leave until nearly 7am.  It seemed to be looking for its companion.

Good birding!
