Howdy all,
We just beat the rain this morning. We had just finished walking out and to
the house here when the rain started. It was a close one!
Anyway, it was a pretty tame morning at the banding station. We only banded a
total of 26 birds but the nice thing about it was that it was only made up of
five GRAY CATBIRDS. Six warbler species and three thrushes always makes a
slow day better. But nothing to rare or uncommon. It was a nice morning to be
out
so no complaints.
I forgot to mention that Shannon had an Acadian Flycatcher yesterday in the
interior of the park.
Here are the totals for the day 5/14:
American Redstart 1
Black-throated Blue Warbler 5
Blackpoll Warbler 2
Common Yellowthroat 3
Black-and-white Warbler 2
Northern Waterthrush 1
Veery 2
Swainson's Thrush 2
Gray-cheeked Thrush 1
Gray Catbird 5
Northern Cardinal 1
Common Grackle 1
TOTAL--------------------------------- 26
Cheers,
