Howdy all,
The last two days have been a little better at the banding station here at
First Landing State Park. Banding last week was almost nonexistent because of
the rain and then the days of high winds. So it has been a treat the last two.
We are starting to see good, yet small pushes of birds through the banding
station.
Here are the totals for the last two days.
18 Apr:
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 4
Yellow Palm Warbler 6
Yellow-rumped Warbler 1
Louisiana Waterthrush 1
Hermit Thrush 1
White-throated Sparrow 2
Northern Cardinal 1
19 Apr:
Prairie Warbler 4
Northern Parula 3
Yellow Palm Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 2
Black-and-white Warbler 1
White-eyed Vireo 3
House Wren 1
Hermit Thrush 1
Tufted Titmouse 1
Also caught a Ruby-throated Hummingbird this morning as well, but was
released unbanded.
Great Crested Flycatchers, Chimney Swifts, Gray Catbird, White-eyed Vireo,
Louisiana Waterthrush, and Ruby-throated Hummingbird have all appeared at the
station in the last two days. Still waiting on Ovenbird and Yellow-throated
Warbler, however.
I will try to get together a cumulative list for the season posted tomorrow.
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
