Howdy all,
Nothing too wild and crazy today at the station. Catbirds seem to be rather
common here. They made up...oh... half of the birds I saw this morning!  Bird
activity was quite good at sunrise and for about two hours after that but came
to a screeching halt after that. Ended up banding 38 birds today with all but
five coming before 9am. I stayed until 1:30pm. It was still a nice morning.
Totals for the day:
NORTHERN PARULA                  1
PRAIRIE WARBLER                    2
YELLOW PALM WARBLER         1
BLACK-&-WHITE WARBLER        1
WORM-EATING WARBLER          1
BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER       1
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET         3
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW    2
EASTERN TOWHEE                    2
HERMIT THRUSH                         1
WOOD THRUSH                          1
NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD         1     60th species for the season
BLUE JAY                                   1
GRAY CATBIRD                          20
TOTAL---------------------------------------  38

My prediction for tomorrow.....uummm....catbirds!

Cheers,
Jethro Runco
