Howdy all,
The last two days have been ok at the banding station. Not a lot of birds but
enough to keep me a little sane. I banded 9 yesterday and 22 today. The
weather was a lot better today than yesterday but it was still very quite this
morning. The only new migrants I saw the last two days was a SPOTTED SANDPIPER
this morning.
Of special note, We caught a PRAIRIE WARBLER yesterday that was already
banded and the band was not one of ours. So it will be exciting to see where
this
bird was first banded at! I will not know that information for some time,
however.
Here is the totals for the last two days.
4/25:
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 2
Prairie Warbler 2
Northern Parula 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
Carolina Wren 1
Sharp-shinned Hawk 1
Common Grackle 1
4/26:
Northern Parula 3
Prairie Warbler 3
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 3
Yellow Palm Warbler 4
Yellow-rumped Warbler 1
Carolina Chickadee 1
Swamp Sparrow 1
Blue-headed Vireo 2
Gray Catbird 1
Red-bellied Woodpecker 1
Common Grackle 1
Northern Flicker 1
Cheers,
Jethro
