VA Birders,
On Thursday, (3/24/05), my wife, Lynda, fellow bird club member, Marie Miller
and I were putting some new predator guards on bluebird nest boxes in the
Breaks VA area. In one nest box we found a bluebird nest, composed mostly of
pine needles, about half completed. This the earliest nesting we have found for
bluebirds in this area. I hope this pair hasn't started too soon. We lost a few
eggs last year to a late cold snap.
Enjoy the birds,
Roger Mayhorn
