[va-bird] Fieldfare?

Today I saw a bird which most respects looked like an American Robin. I
observed it plucking a blackberry at the edge of a wooded area at the
Izaak Walton League in Centerville.  The markings were more like those
of a juvenile Robin, but it was clearly an adult bird. I don't recall
seeing a Fieldfare on any posted bird lists, but this bird certainly
looked a lot like a Fieldfare or a Redwing. The flanks were rusty as on
the redwing. I wonder if either of these birds interbreed with the
American Robin. I regret that I did not take a photo or make a sketch.
It was a very interesting looking bird.
