While out monitoring the Bluebird Trail at George Washington's Ferry
Farm in Stafford County, I had a better than usual day of birding. The
highlights include:
Rose-breasted Grosebeak (1- male)
Indigo Bunting (1 - male)
Yellow-throated Warbler (1)
Prairie Warbler (3)
Yellow Warbler (2)
Northern Parula (1)
Great Crested Flycatcher (1)
Barn Swallow (2)
House Wren (1)
Belted Kingfisher (1)
Am. Goldfinch, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Red-eyed Vireo, Yellow-rumped
Warbler, Chipping Sparrow, and White-throated Sparrow were all abundant.
Other highlights from 27 April include:
Baltimore Oriole (1)
Orchard Oriole (2)
White-eyed Vireo (1)
Common Yellowthroat (2)
Plus, the Bluebirds are all doing fine with today's total of 13
hatchlings and 4 eggs still being incubated. Not to mention one very
determined House Sparrow!
Good Birding,
