Hola,
On Thursday I checked a few ponds around Fauquier County for arriving
waterfowl, and then visited the same ponds again Sunday. New for me this fall
were
about 30 Ring-necked Ducks at Airlie, present both days. There was one
Ruddy Duck there Thursday, seven today. Forty Gadwall were present both days,
plus ten Wood Ducks at the pond on Belvoir Road. This afternoon there was a
Coot present there and a hen Shoveler at Airlie..
The pond at Harrison Road doesn't seem to be attracting geese like it has in
years past, though perhaps it is still early. There are a lot of geese at
another pond near Delaplane, but this pond is difficult to view.
Cheers,
Todd
