WHY?
This a great opportunity for you and your family to experience the natural
wonders that surround you right here in northern Virginia. The Occoquan Bay
National Wildlife Refuge is a spectacular waterfront area that provides habitat
for hundreds of bird species, including bald eagles, herons and ospreys;
numerous other wildlife and 650 kinds of plants. Occoquan Bay Refuge is part
of the national wildlife refuge system managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service. It includes more than 500 special places set aside nationwide
specifically for wildlife.
The Friends of Potomac River Refuges is sponsoring this event to encourage
neighbors to learn about the refuge and to join the Friends Group. You too can
be a steward of American Wildlife! Become a member at the event (and become
eligible for a special drawing) or join by checking our website at
www.foprr.org.
