Paul, Golden-crowned Kinglets are not rare birds in Virginia but consider
yourself lucky to see them, especially if you were able to get pictures. Often
they stay high up in the Pine trees and are difficult to see. Every birder I
know delights when they get a good look at a Golden Crown even if they've seen
a
couple hundred in the past. I guess what I'm trying to say is you can still be
excited even if it's not a rare bird.
