This afternoon I was surprised to see a flock of 44 Fish Crows flying over
Fairfax City where I was visiting for Thanksgiving. Multiple birds were
calling.
Later I saw a flock of 20-plus Cedar Waxwings fly over.
Finally, taking a little walk at Long Branch Nature Center in Arlington, at
dusk I heard and saw a Winter Wren. I strongly suspect that there were multiple
birds, possibly 3 or more, but can only say one with full confidence. Let's
just say I heard a lot of calling.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Cheers,
Steve Young
