Subject: Red-throated Loon in Clarke Co
While scouting in Clarke Co for a trip this Sunday I found a RED-THROATED
LOON on the Shenandoah River a little ways south of the Rte 50 Bridge over
the Shenandoah. Other nice birds seen included an EASTERN PHOEBE and FOX
SPARROW at the State Arboretum/Blandy & a RAVEN preening in southwestern
Loudoun Co close to Upperville & a couple of KESTRELS, one in southwestern
Loudoun Co near the Raven & the other near Blandy. Also, the PIED-BILLED
GREBE continues on the pond at Sky Meadows State Park in northwestern
Fauquier County.
