Hello List,
Sorry about the cryptic message from before. It is hard to work a computer
and watch professional bull riding. It was meant to say:
two Willow Flycatchers
Good birds<<<<
Some can have a hard time with the Empidonax group in the Fall. Kudos to
Kurt. I had no less than six silent empidonax at River Bend and Great Falls
Park
today and left them all as Trail's sp. The two others that did call did not
fall cleanly into the Whit! of the Willow or the Kep! of the Alder (according
to
Ken Kaufman) for me to accuse either one of being one or the other. Again,
nice job rooting them out, Kurt.
Also at Riverbend were five Magnolia Warblers, four Nashville Warblers,
one Blue-winged Warbler, two Chestnut-sided Warblers, six Common Yellowthroats
and two Indigo Buntings, both male, with plenty of blue still showing.
At Great Falls Park there was an adult Acadian Flycatcher feeding two
young that looked recently fledged. They were sitting on a stem together,
touching and facing in opposite directions. The adult returned every thirty to
sixty
seconds with caterpillars that got shoved deep into the young birds.
