Hi all
John Porter and I birded the bridge tunnel islands and eastern Shore up to
Curtis Tomb Rd. We found a total of
82 species for the day Monday 8-16. Our list was seemlier to the posting of Bob
Ake and Arun Bose. we missed the Upland Sandpiper and Bobolinks And birds of
Willis Wharf. To add to list Horned Lark Redheaded Woodpecker, Sora Rail,
White Ibis and Many Black Ibis. Also Brown-headed Nuthatch, Wild Turkey, Bob
White, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, and Eurasian Collar Dove. I have never seen as
many Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher and Am. Redstarts they were every way you look. All
red starts were imm. or female. was glad to see Redhead Woodpeckers first I Saw
on shore since Hurricane Isabell.
We also enjoyed welcoming back Jethro Runco back to the song bird banding
station for another seasons
