Thanks to Mike Shank's precise directions, we refound the EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVES in Sangerville today.
We first drove by and saw nothing, so we drove along Grindstone Rd out of town.
When we returned, one of the doves was perched on a wire between 2 houses.
There is a dual mailbox - 57&58 Grindstone Rd - the bird was just west of that
and south of the road. While watching him, another dove started to coo a bit NW
of us and eventually, the first dove answered back. Might there be more?
Considering the record of those in Northampton Co, it would really be
interesting to know how long they've been there. It's a bit out of the way,
even for us in the Valley, but it was well worth the trip!
Thanks Mike!
