On Sept. 19, I took a few shots of the devastation produced by
Hurricane Isabelle at the Belle Haven Marina which is adjacent to Dyke
Marsh. I have yet to see what is left of the Dyke Marsh boardwalk,
built less than 3 years ago. Rich and others have reported that it is
in pieces and totally destroyed. If any of you would like to see what
the marina looked like the day after the hurricane, you can view my
pics at http://www.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=67b0de21b32d3c890532 (If
you don't see the web address highlighted, try copying and pasting it
in the address line of your browser.)

I would encourage all of you in Northern Virginia to join the effort to
clean up the debris left by Isabelle so that the Haul Road trail
through Dyke Marsh can be reopened.
