Despite high winds, 13 people joined me for today's Sunday morning addition of
the Dyke Marsh walk. An extremely high tide kept gull numbers low, but we were
fortunate enough to see a basic plumaged Bonaparte's Gull working its way
northbound. A pair of Wood Ducks added a splash of color to the Little Gut.
Song Sparrows seem to be in the swing of migration and Fred Bogar was able to
point out one American Tree Sparrow among them at the dogleg. A Brown Creeper
at the end of the Haul Road peninsula was also quite nice. At least one pair
of Ospreys was tending to its duties at a nest.
