Ten birders showed up for a cold and rather windy version of the weekly Dyke
Marsh walk. Four of the six Osprey nests showed some activity. Surprisingly, a
pair of Wood Ducks seemed to be investigating cavities in the picnic area. Ed
Eder remarked that the birds had been peering into a few the day before. A
pair of Northern Rough-winged Swallows gave spectacular views while perched at
the Marina as did 2 Greater Yellowlegs in the Little Gut. Despite the chill
and wind, A Ruby-crowned Kinglet was in full song accompanied by a chorus of
Yellow-rumped Warblers. It was actually a delightful day.
