Is that actually a Cicada killer wasp with the cicada? I have them in my yard
every summer...they're huge. I understand that they stun the cicada and then
bury it alive underground with its eggs so that the young have fresh food
(still-alive cicada) when they hatch.
I also used to see them every summer as a park ranger in Brooklyn's Prospect
Park. Big and scary.
You called it a European hornet but I have never seen those as far as I know...
Thanks.
