A dull gray morning with assorted sprinkles did not deter the gathering at
Dyke Marsh this morning. 16 people assembled under the threatening skies for
the
weekly walk and a fine time was had by all. Best bird of the day was the
unusual short-tailed race of the Brown Thrasher (Toxostoma buttof jokeyii).
Latestayers (not related to naysayers) proceeded to the Hunting Creek mudflats
for
a nice selection of shorebirds...semi, Least, spotted and solitary sandpipers,
L. Yellowlegs, and Killdeers continue to enjoy low tide despite the expanding
construction for the Woody Wilson Bridge....watch those wild cherry trees for
