Apologizing for the late post - it was a cold morning at Dyke Marsh in
Alexandria on Sunday...how cold was it? Some weirdo tried to flash us, but he
was
only offering a verbal description....
Three of us were treated to a nice Eagle show, however, with one adult
perched in a large Sycamore tree in the picnic area. An immature flew by and
another
four were posted up in various places in the bay area....across the river, a
white head on the (MD) nest was barely visible thru the shimmer. A few common
Mergs worked the bay, otherwise the scene was totally dominated by C. Gooses...
We did manage to find one PB Grebe in Marina Bay on our way out just before
our only Towhee vocalized. Otherwise, it really was a winters day despite the
fact that the Cardinals were singing their Cheery Cheery song and the red
epaulets of the RW Blackbirds were blazing in the sun.
