After a productive morning and early PM spent with Chris Kessler at Metz,
Leesylvania, and Monticello, Ian Topolsky and I finished
up at Dulles Wetlands.
There, we heard at least 2 Sora as well as 1 or more Virginia Rail.
Also seen were:
GB Heron - 2
Great Egret - 1
GW Teal - pairs
Gadwall - pairs
Some of - Both Yellowlegs
1 (the predictable one along the road) Barred Owl
2 Kingfishers
Most common Junk Birds of the day? Yellow-rumped, Parula, & Gnatcatchers - but
wouldn't you love them in December?!
