When I was in Nova Scotia this summer we saw a pair of Peregrines kill and eat
a duck. They stayed on a rock in the river below us and together pulled the
duck apart and ate it. When I grew up in rural Hanover County (yes it was rural
once) any large hawk was a "chicken hawk" and they were routinely shot.
