Made a quick trip to Rt 617 in Louisa County yesterday evening.
At approximately 5:35 p.m. 21 gulls, presumed to be Ringed-billed flew
over the pond heading east. Three Short-eared Owls made appearance at 5:55
p.m., interacting with each other as they flew and circled over the field
behind the pond, heading east.
Driving back down Rt. 617 heading west towards Rt. 15, I heard the peenting
of Woodcock along a narrow stand of trees bordering a large pasture with
grazing cattle. There were at least three Woodcock peenting and zinging
across the sky close to the road along the fence.
