As some of you may know, a Black Vulture was born and made its home in a sunken
"garden" adjacent to the entrance to the medical professional building next to
Fair Oaks Hospital near Fairfax, Va.. The vulture and parents had left for a
while but are back and perching on the railing within about 30 feet of the
entrance. A physician who deals with cancer patients is concerned that the
presence of the vultures may be upsetting to visiting patients who have cancer
or other life threatening diseases. He is seeking information on how to get
the vultures to leave this particular site. He is not suggesting capture or
killing them but would really like to find a way to have them go elsewhere. An
adult and a juvenile bird were seen perching on the railing to the left of the
entrance yesterday.
Does anyone have any ideas for a peaceful eviction? By the way, Great looks
from about 25 feet.
