Howdy all,

I know many of you on the listserve have been to the Kiptopeke banding
station, but I am also sure there are many who have not.
Sooo......

Here are directions to the banding station.

The banding station is located inside Kiptopeke State Park which is on the
eastern shore of Virginia. i.e. a LONG way for those of you out in the western
part of the state!
The state park is about five miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel
(CBBT). Both the state park and the CBBT have fees. The CBBT is $12 one way,
but if you go back across in 24 hours, it is only $5 on the return. I am not
sure the entry fee for the park, but it isn't but a couple of dollars.
Once inside the park, go until you come to the first (open) road that goes
left. This little road will take you to a small parking lot (next to the
playground). Park here. The banding station is about 0.2 miles from there (not
even a
five minute walk). Follow the gravel/dirt road past the gazebo and take the
right fork towards the butterfly gardens. Once at the butterfly gardens, hook
left and you will see a sign for the banding station. The station is located
inside the trees on the right, but very visible.
Just look for an ugly guy with a mustache--that's me.

It's all quite simple.

Hope to see you all at the banding station this season!

Cheers,
Jethro Runco
