Greetings to all:
Around 12:30 this afternoon on Sunday June 13, 2004, I made a quick trip to the
Gladys area to look for the Dickcissels reported by Gene Sattler.
I exited 501 just south of Gladys at St Rd 650 and drove to its X with St Rd
651 and looked around there but didn't find anything.
There was some mowing in the area and some utility construction even today.
I proceeded along St Rd 650 and crossed over St Rd 652 and with the widows
down I soon heard Dickcissels singing. Pulling over I soon found a singing
male and a female nearby. They were in the field just on the right after
crossing through the intersection with 652. Look for the first reddish-orange
cattle gate on the right side on the road. Just down the road, but on a bad
curve I heard another singing male.
Good Birding always
