Virginia Birders,
This evening I got good looks at a singing Philadelphia Vireo in our yard (in
Dale City, Prince William County). This species is fairly rare in spring in
VA, but it seems as though an unusually large number have been reported (at
least in northern VA) in the past week or so.
We also have a nesting pair of Cooper's Hawks in a Virginia pine in our yard --
they seem to be incubating at this time.
Good birding,
Steve Rottenborn
