Hello birders,
On this very windy Monday, both hummingbirds (Black-chinned and
Rufous/Allen's) have been sighted at various times by different birders=
.
According to posts on the MD listserve, the Black-chinned was in the Ri=
pley
Garden between 6:45 and 7:00 a.m. The Rufous/Allen's was present betwee=
n
7:45 and 8:00; from 9:15 ?11:00; and from 11:30-12:00. I was in the ga=
rden
from 12:20 to 12:30, and did not see either; possibly the rascals were =
off
chasing one another. Other birds seen in the garden were the Ruby-crow=
ned
Kinglet and a beautifully marked Ovenbird. I briefly saw the Kinglet, =
and
was teased by movement near the wall where the Ovenbird has been report=
ed,
but wasn't able to get a clear view. As long as the hummingbirds are s=
till
present, that's the most important thing!
