Here in the Bethesa/Silver Spring are there are crows; in fact, I just =
saw a Fish Crow from my sixth floor office window a few minutes ago. =
Though I don't keep track, I believe that numbers here in Bethesda are =
down. I had no trouble finding crows _in_ DC in June, nor confirming =
them for the Breeding Bird Atlas. Maybe other lurking DC birders have =
observations? I have been seeing dead crows on my way to work; a crow =
roadkill was something I virtually never saw before this year. =20
Yesterday afternoon I glanced out my window and saw what turned out to =
be an adult Bald Eagle circling some distance away. =20

I realize that DC is not VA, but I think it's close enough for a =

I just heard a report on NPR about the West Nile Virus that suggested =

"the reason you don't see any crows around Washington, is because =
they've all=20
been killed by West Nile."=20
I haven't really been paying attention to crows or lack there of, but I =
was=20
wondering if anyone has noticed a decline in crow numbers. [snip]
Any thoughts or comments?
