A stronger-than-expected cold front has brought lots of north wind today to
the Eastern Shore. A short walk on the Cape Charles beach produced several
Purple Sandpipers (also noted by others last weekend). The town is full of
kinglets (new ones, it seems) and flocks of Chipping Sparrows in every yard.
The
Allen's/Rufous Hummingbird is still at the feeders this morning. David
Turner said his house at Folly Creek had a marvelous flight of hundreds of Snow
Geese yesterday evening. Swans soon to follow!
