VA BIRDers,
The Common Moorhen orginally found by Bob Beard near the back of the Little
Gut at Dyke Marsh was observed by myself this morning. The Little Gut is
observed from the dogleg portion of Haul Road from an opening that looks out
upon the south marsh (there are some phragmites just north from this
opening). A Little Blue Heron was also present at this location.
There was one flock of mixed neotrops this morning which included a
Blackburnian amongst the more common migrants found this time of year. On
the dogleg a Marsh Wren was hanging out with a bunch of recently arrived Song
Sparrows at the marsh edge by the bridge.
