Hi Birders,
After viewing the Iceland Gull found by Sue Heath this morning at the PWC
landfill, I stopped by the Metz wetlands to search (unsuccessfully) for the
Harris's Sparrow. While there, I got a fairly decent look at what
presumably must be the same buffy sparrow reported by a couple of other
birders there recently. My sighting was also a BVD (better view desired),
but from what I could see during a brief look, this bird certainly does
appear to be a Clay-colored Sparrow. This bird was about 50 feet north of
the monument and in the company of a small group of Field Sparrows.
