This morning at about 5:48 AM a Chuck-will's-widow started calling right
outside my house--a new yard bird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At first I was
delighted, but then I wondered if it is here because of new development in the
area
where this bird would normally be located (in more than 2 decades I've never
heard one this close to my home). That thought, of course, is heartrending.
