Season's Greetings everyone!
I slept in late this morning (6am) and woke to the wonderful hooting of
my local Great Horned Owl. What a treat! I never get tired of listening
to him. This time of the year when he is hooting again, I am always
reminded of Stripey in the book, "Messages from an Owl".
It is also nice to have a Brown Thrasher over-wintering in my backyard
this year. He was foraging in my flowerbed when I went down to start
brewing my hazelnut coffee.
It has been great seeing so many of you on the Christmas Bird Counts.
And, I hope to run into more of you on the upcoming counts.
Best wishes to all for a very Happy New Year!
Larry
